The stakes of being crowned as the world’s best PlayersUnknown’s Battleground squad just got higher as Bluehole, the developers of the hit Battle Royale game, revealed the 2019 roadmap for PUBG esports.
Kicking off the PUBG esports season for Southeast Asia this year is the PUBG SEA Championship season 1 – Hanoi 2019. Managed by MET Events, Asia’s biggest esports event organizer, the inaugural tournament, which will unfold on March 16 to 17, 2019, will feature 16 squads from six Southeast Asian countries, duking it out for the $50,000 prize pool, as well as the honor of representing the region in global PUBG events.
Five seeds were given to the squads who emerged on top of last year’s regional and global events such as the PUBG Southeast Asia Championship 2018, JIB PUBG SEA Championship Bangkok 2018, and PAI Macao 2019. To round off the list of participants, competitive teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam will also be gracing the tournament with their presence.
Bren Esports Pick Up Aether Main’s Mobile Legends Roster
Aether Main has been popularly known for winning the inaugural Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines. They were able to cement their claim as the country’s best team by finishing the entire league with only one regular season loss to their name.
According to Jab Escutin, Chief Operating Officer at Bren Esports, the acquisition of Aether Main’s players was in sync with Bren Esports’ aspirations.
“We expect the team to continue pushing the boundaries of what a professional Mobile Legends team can achieve. As always, Bren Esports’ vision is to provide a platform for budding esports teams so that they can maximize their skills and grow the esports industry as a whole,” Escutin stated.
In a Facebook post, the Aether Esports organization has reminded their fans that despite the changes, the former Aether Main players will continue to support Aether teams. Prominent Mobile Legends: Bang Bang personality, AkoSiDogie, will also remain as their coach, and Schultzein Von Lebranco will still be the team’s manager.
The newly-acquired Mobile Legends team of Bren Esports will be representing the Philippines in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2018 starting on July 27 at the Jakarta International Expo. in Jakarta, Indonesia. MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Dota 2 team TNC Pro Team takes home $500,000 as they beat China’s Keen Gaming in the championship round of the World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) 2018’s Dota 2 tournament, Sunday, March 10.
This is the second time that TNC is the WESG champion, having won the inaugural tournament in 2016, which netted them $800,000. TNC did not participate in the 2017 tourney.
The team announced their victory on their Facebook page, and also mentioned the challenges they’ve recently faced. “It is known that our group had encountered challenges outside the game way back last year, and we are thankful for those who stuck with us through thick and thin,” TNC said.
The first Champion, Aether Main crowned as the first ever champion on MPL-Season 1
Aether Main triumphed over DigitalDevils Pro Gaming in the grand finals of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines live at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia yesterday. AE Main took home the championship title after clinching a clean 3-0 victory over their opponents. The country’s best Mobile Legends squad took home the grand cash prize of USD 32,084 along with the glory of being the first national champion of MPL.
The grand finals of the MPL PH tournament took place over two days in a live event at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia, where hundreds of fans and gamers watched as the top 8 Mobile Legends teams in the Philippines engaged in epic battle. Aether Main bested the rest of the competitors in the league after a lengthy 5-week regular season in the lead up to the grand finals event.
Aether Main only managed to drop one game in the regular season of the league before returning to their dominant form for the live playoffs. Five of the best players from the entire league were also crowned as the Mobile Legends Professional League PH All Star Team, in order to recognize the gifted players from the league.
The dominant victory for Aether Main signals the end of the inaugural season of the first officially sanctioned Mobile Legends tournament in the Philippines. There is currently no news as to whether or not the MPL PH will return for a second season.
